Always interested in art, Alexandra Boyden attended The Rhode Island School of Design, majoring in graphic design, and worked in galleries and museums. Her decision to focus on painting came after a fortuitous trip to Antarctica. This destination presented a landscape unlike any other. While not currently depicting the South Pole, she’s still drawn to similarly vast scenes.
“The landscape is a starting point for an ongoing exploration toward abstraction. Often through a series, I play with color, line, form, and ultimately a more intuitive approach. In the end, I strive to make work equally beautiful to its origins, but with a newfound personality.” - A. Boyden
Before moving to Oregon Alex’s work was shown by galleries throughout Boston and in ME.
