As children my siblings and I spent hours in the woods behind our house, building forts, cutting trails through stinging nettles and searching for unusual river rocks. I’ve always been fascinated by the strikingly beautiful patterns found on turtle shells and snakeskins and the remarkable architecture of birds nests. The monochromatic technique of the cyanotype is well suited for highlighting the line and pattern of these natural forms.
