Art has been the journey of my lifetime. It has been my reward, my solace, and the expression of my feelings at any given moment in time. It takes me beyond the surface of my everyday life—a place to escape. I work in several different ways. I am a Printmaker and print monotypes with water-based inks. I also paint on rice paper with acrylics. When these are dry, I work on them with pastels, charcoals or anything else that may be in my studio. These are affixed to canvas, wood or paper. The pieces themselves lead me along the way. They are begun intuitively with no particular plan, often very chaotic. After adding, subtracting and some mutilation they start to become organized and hopefully are well designed.
Life without making Art — I can’t imagine it.
