Caplan Art Designs is a rare jewel in the art world. In 2003 we were a young family moving into a new home we had designed and built. Our “art,” old framed posters, did not do the house justice. We were in a quandary and didn’t even know where to begin. I met Amy Caplan at a birthday lunch for a mutual friend and that was the beginning of my art journey. First, Amy showed us a book of her artists to get an idea of our likes and dislikes. Then she actually brought pieces to our house, hung them, and let us live with them for a few days. We had no idea that this type of service existed. Buying art always seemed intimidating and stuffy but Amy made art approachable and fun. We have purchased many pieces from a variety of her artists over the years, including several commissioned pieces. Her artists are unique, professional, and very easy to collaborate with.
